At Planet Travel Advisor, we believe that clear payment and cancellation terms are an essential part of planning a stress-free vacation. We want every guest to understand exactly how their booking is confirmed, how payments are handled, and what happens if travel plans need to change.
This policy applies to all our guided itineraries, day trips, Bosphorus cruises, customized routes, and comprehensive Turkey tour packages. By confirming a booking and submitting a deposit or payment, you confirm that you have reviewed and accepted the terms below, along with any supplier-specific conditions shared with you before confirmation.
A booking is officially confirmed only when all of the following steps are complete:
You approve the final Turkey tour itinerary, quotation, inclusions, exclusions, travel dates, and any special conditions.
Planet Travel Advisor receives the required deposit or agreed payment.
Planet Travel Advisor sends written confirmation by email, an official invoice, or a booking confirmation message.
Here is the required payment breakdown for all standard Turkey travel packages:
1. Initial Deposit (25%): A 25% deposit of the total tour cost is required to secure your booking. Once received, we will confirm your hotels, domestic flights, and primary services.
2. Second Installment (65%): 65% of the total tour cost is due 25 days before your scheduled arrival in Turkey.
3. Final Balance (10%): The remaining 10% of the total tour cost is due 7 days before your arrival.
Note: Custom luxury itineraries, large group bookings, or travel during peak holiday seasons may require adjusted payment timelines or higher initial deposits, which will be communicated in writing prior to booking.
Once the booking is confirmed, our team begins securing the services included in your program. This may include hotels, domestic flights, guides, vehicles, and special attraction permits. A preliminary quotation or verbal interest does not hold availability or price.
The required deposit depends on the tour type, travel period, number of travelers, and services included.
For multi-day itineraries across Turkey, the standard deposit is 25% to 50% of the total tour cost. The exact amount depends on the hotel category, domestic flight requirements, travel dates, and supplier rules.
For separate day tours (such as a guided walking tour of Istanbul or a hot air balloon flight in Cappadocia) that do not include hotel accommodation or domestic flights, the deposit is typically 25% of the total cost.
For itineraries that include domestic flights within Turkey, payment for the flights is required before ticketing. Once issued, domestic flight tickets are subject to airline rules and are often non-refundable or only partially refundable.
High-end hotels, large group bookings, or travel during peak periods (such as Christmas, New Year, Easter, or major local festivals) may require a higher deposit, often 50% or more. Some exclusive services may require full prepayment to secure availability.
The remaining balance must be paid according to the payment schedule outlined in your confirmed quotation or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the balance may be paid:
Before arrival via a secure online payment link or bank transfer.
Upon arrival in cash (in the agreed currency), if this option is approved in advance.
By credit card, subject to any applicable processing fees.
If the final balance is not paid on time, certain arrangements may be suspended, released by suppliers, or canceled.
Planet Travel Advisor accepts the following payment methods:
Secure online payment link.
Major credit or debit cards.
Bank transfer (when available and approved in advance).
Cash payment upon arrival (when explicitly agreed upon in writing).
For your security, never send full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or sensitive financial details by email, WhatsApp, or social media.
Prices are quoted in USD unless another currency is clearly stated in writing. Any bank transfer fees, intermediary bank charges, currency conversion costs, or card processing fees are the responsibility of the guest unless otherwise agreed. If a card or payment gateway fee applies, it will be clearly communicated before payment is completed.
Once your booking is confirmed and the required deposit is received, the agreed price remains valid for the services confirmed in writing. This protects your confirmed booking from standard seasonal price fluctuations.
Price stability does not cover:
Changes or upgrades requested by you after confirmation.
Additional optional tours or extra services.
Airline fare changes before ticketing.
Government-imposed fee or tax increases (such as changes to museum entrance fees).
Currency fluctuations affecting unpaid balances.
We understand that you may need to adjust your plans as you prepare to travel to Turkey. Guests may request amendments to their confirmed itinerary, such as date changes, hotel upgrades, or adjusted tour arrangements.
All amendment requests must be sent in writing. Planet Travel Advisor will do its best to accommodate your requests, subject to availability, airline rules, hotel policies, and operational feasibility. If suppliers charge amendment fees or if the revised service costs more, the guest will be responsible for the additional amount.
Certain travel services become non-refundable or subject to penalties the moment they are confirmed. These typically include:
Domestic flight tickets within Turkey.
International flights booked through us.
Train tickets or ferry passes.
Certain hotel bookings (especially in high-demand areas like Cappadocia).
Peak season or special event arrangements.
Pre-purchased attraction tickets or permits.
If a cancellation or amendment affects a non-refundable supplier cost, that specific amount will be deducted from any eligible refund.
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. The official cancellation date is the date Planet Travel Advisor receives your written notice. Cancellation charges depend on the timing, tour type, travel season, and supplier conditions.
For bookings outside of major peak periods, the following cancellation scale generally applies:
From booking date until 61 days before arrival: 15% of the total tour cost
60 to 30 days before arrival: 25% of the total tour cost
29 to 15 days before arrival: 50% of the total tour cost
14 to 7 days before arrival: 75% of the total tour cost
7 to 1 day before arrival / No-show: 100% of the total tour cost
Note: Domestic flights and specific supplier non-refundable costs may be charged separately based on the airline or supplier's strict cancellation policy.
During Turkey's peak travel windows, such as the busy spring (April and May) and autumn (September and October) sightseeing seasons, the high-demand summer months along the Turquoise Coast, and major local holidays like Eid al-Fitr, hotels and local suppliers enforce stricter cancellation conditions. The following scale typically applies:
From booking date until 61 days before arrival: 25% of the total tour cost
60 to 31 days before arrival: 50% of the total tour cost
30 to 15 days before arrival: 75% of the total tour cost
14 to 1 day before arrival / No-show: 100% of the total tour cost
A no-show occurs when a guest does not arrive, fails to join the confirmed tour, misses a scheduled meeting with a guide or representative, or misses a confirmed service without prior written notice. In a no-show situation, no refund will be provided for the missed service.
Guests are responsible for providing accurate flight details and reviewing our essential trip information for Turkey prior to departure. You must notify Planet Travel Advisor team immediately if your flight is delayed, canceled, or if you miss a connection.
We will do everything possible to adjust your ground arrangements (such as airport transfers or hotel check-ins). However, any additional costs incurred due to late arrivals, such as new private transfers, missed domestic flights, or rearranged services, are the guest's responsibility.
Eligible refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original transaction whenever possible.
Refunds are subject to this cancellation policy, supplier refund rules, bank processing times, currency conversion differences, and any non-refundable costs already paid out. Once a tour has started, unused services (including missed meals, unused transfers, or early departures) are not refundable unless formally approved in writing by Planet Travel Advisor and the relevant supplier.
If you need to postpone your trip rather than cancel entirely, requests must be submitted in writing. Postponement is subject to supplier approval, new travel dates, availability, price differences, and non-refundable supplier costs.
If approved, the amount already paid may be transferred as credit toward your new travel dates, minus any charges incurred by suppliers for the change. If the postponed trip is later canceled, the cancellation policy will apply based on the original booking terms.
