Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Phnom Penh Arrival
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh Airport, meet and transfer by the local guide to the hotel for check-in (if available before 2 pm) or drop off luggage at the lobby. Begin the tour with a visit to Wat Phnom, the historical center of Phnom Penh that gave the city its name. This 27-meter-high hill is the highest point in the area and marks the city's "zero point." Continue to Wat Unalom, the headquarters of one of Cambodia's most revered Buddhist patriarchs, featuring a post-Angkorean stupa.
After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, formerly a high school that was converted into an interrogation prison known as S-21 during the Khmer Rouge era. Return to the hotel and enjoy free time at leisure.
In the late afternoon, around 5:30 pm, your guide and tuk-tuk driver will pick you up for the evening food tour. Ride through the city via the riverfront, stopping first at a riverside bar for a briefing and a welcome drink. Explore a lively local night market, followed by a stop at a popular street food spot to savor Cambodian-style seafood, including a special mackerel dish and squid with Kampot pepper. The tour then takes you to a trendy nightspot with live music to sample additional local delicacies, followed by a visit to the Independence Monument for a quick history lesson and a fantastic photo opportunity. The evening concludes at a stylish rooftop bar with panoramic views of Phnom Penh.
