Day-01 Amman to Jerash and Umm Qais – Northern Jordan's Ancient Cities
Depart from Amman in the morning and travel north through the Jordanian countryside to Jerash, one of the day's two major archaeological sites.

On arrival, begin your guided exploration of the ancient city. Walk through the distinctive Oval Plaza and continue among Jerash's monumental Roman remains. Your sightseeing includes the Temple of Artemis, South Theater, and Hadrian's Arch, with your guide providing useful historical context as you move through the site.

After your Jerash visit, stop for an included lunch at a local restaurant before continuing north toward Umm Qais.

Umm Qais occupies the site of ancient Gadara, one of the cities associated with the Decapolis.
