Overnight in Amman.
Begin with breakfast at your hotel before exploring the religious and historical heritage of Jordan’s capital.
Your first major stop is King Abdullah I Mosque, easily recognized by its large blue dome. The mosque is an important modern landmark in Amman and an active place of worship.
Continue to Amman Citadel, a hilltop archaeological site where different civilizations left their mark on the city. Of particular relevance to this tour are the remains of the Umayyad Palace complex, which provide an important connection to Amman’s early Islamic history.
Next, visit the Jordan Museum, where collections provide a broader introduction to the archaeology, history and cultural development of Jordan across different periods.
Stop for an included lunch at a local restaurant.
Later, continue to Abu Darweesh Mosque, known for its distinctive black-and-white exterior and prominent position above eastern Amman.
After completing the sightseeing program, return to your hotel.
Overnight in Amman.
After breakfast, travel north from Amman for a day exploring two important historical areas.
Begin at Jerash, one of Jordan’s most significant archaeological cities. Walk among remains representing different periods of the city’s long history, including its famous Roman streets, plazas, theatres and monumental architecture.
Rather than treating Jerash solely as an Islamic site, this visit provides useful historical context for understanding the civilizations and communities that occupied northern Jordan through Roman, Byzantine and later Islamic periods.
Enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant before continuing into the hills of Ajloun.
Visit Ajloun Castle, also known as Qal'at Ar-Rabad. Built during the Ayyubid period in the late 12th century, the fortress occupied a strategic position overlooking routes through northern Jordan and the Jordan Valley. Its defensive architecture makes it one of the strongest Islamic-history stops on this itinerary.
After exploring the castle, return to Amman.
Overnight in Amman.
Have breakfast at your hotel, check out and begin the journey toward Madaba.
Explore Madaba, known for its collection of historic mosaics and especially the famous mosaic map associated with St. George’s Church. The visit adds important context to Jordan’s wider religious and cultural heritage.
Continue to Mount Nebo, traditionally associated with Prophet Musa (Moses), who is revered in Islam as well as Judaism and Christianity. From the elevated site, take in the surrounding landscape and explore its historic religious remains and mosaics.
Enjoy an included lunch during the touring program.
Afterwards, travel to the Dead Sea and check in at your hotel or resort. Take time to relax beside its highly saline waters and enjoy the distinctive floating experience for which the area is famous.
Dinner is included at the hotel.
Overnight at the Dead Sea.
Enjoy breakfast at your Dead Sea hotel.
Depending on your international flight schedule, spend your remaining time relaxing at the hotel before check-out.
